Google announced today, a rather needed Translate update.
For ANDROID users you now have the option to Tap to Translate. You can copy the text of a chat, comment, song lyric, etc and no need to switch apps…you can now just tap.
Now for iOS users, you finally get to use Offline Mode. Google has now shrunk the downloadable files down to a manageable 25MB each. That is about a 90% reduction.
To set up: Tap the arrow next to the language name to download the package for that language, and then you’ll be ready to do text translations online or offline.
Also with the addition of Filipino, Google’s offline languages is now at 52.
Word Lens in Chinese adds the instant visual translation for both Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Try it out today!
