For the past few years, I have been teaching myself Windows Server. It is a hard task, and to be truthful, we only use 3 of the 6 aspects of Windows Server 2012 R2. So it makes it a little hard on myself to do this.
I’ve actually been really frustrated on my MSCA path. So my boss suggested a quick move to grasp some easy commands and updates. He suggested moving to Microsoft Office 365, backed by Azure AD.
Now I have said before that we are a Google based company, so using Azure AD is never anything we really look at…until yesterday.
Microsoft is now promoting a support for Google ID’s in Azure AD! This is the first third-part identify provider that Azure AD supports!
Imagine my excitement. Something I am studying and something I use regularly are now supporting each other. This means one of those 3 aspects I keep messing up on…can be conquered!
You can now seamlessly invite Google Federation and Gmail users with a B2B setup with Azure AD! This means they no longer need to create an Azure AD or Microsoft Account to access the apps and resources you are sharing!
(Microsoft has noted that they are only currently supporting Google ID’s with the @gmail.com extension.)
Microsoft has provided a dive into the documentation to try out B2B Google federation!
This is a huge step for Microsoft, for Google…and for myself!
